Shawn Carney, CPCC/Acc

As a trained end-of-life doula, hospice volunteer, certified professional coach (CPCC/ACC), and Reiki I practitioner, I walk with people through life’s liminal places: the thresholds of identity, loss, change, and dying. My practice weaves presence, listening, and gentle structure with an understanding that meaning can emerge even in the hardest passages.

I welcome and affirm all identities, traditions, and lineages of care, with a deep connection to my LGBTQ+ community, where chosen family and safety are sacred ground. I live with my wife, our dogs and cats in Columbia County, surrounded by the rivers and ridgelines of the Hudson Valley. My life and work both circle the same truth: each of us longs to be seen, to be accompanied, to matter until the very end.

Dying is more than a medical event. It’s a human, relational, and spiritual passage. My doula practice offers non-medical, holistic support that honors the fullness of life right up to the final breath. Together, we tend to both the practical and the profound, walking with you and those you love through the emotional, logistical, and spiritual dimensions of dying.
